A nostalgic (a wistful desire to return in thought or in fact to a former time in one's
life) attempt to duplicate the the 80's look of the MF trumpet section
in the portrait by Jim Zinecker .

Destino Trumpet
I played lead on the O'Jays show Oct. 7, 2006 outside in a park for about 15,000 fans. WHAT A GREAT SOUND I heard coming back from the monitors! I got the burn when I needed it and the mellowness when I wanted it. It was so easy to play also. My buddy Dennis Dotson was playing 2nd. He said, careful, it's a loud gig and it takes some indurance.Well, I didn't have to worry. It was smokin'. I hadn't played a loud R&B show since I have had my horn. I have enjoyed it in a lot of other playing situations. It did everything I needed. It is a German Destino.
Thanks Doc!

I needed to care for my 91 year old Dad with cancer. Through this unplanned experiment I have further convinced myself that: 1. muscle memory 2. proper use of air 3. playing it smart by avoiding pressure is the key to playing in this kind of playing situation. I had my full range up to an occasional double c or the eb above that and I made the whole night. G's and A's, no problem....... In the old days and stronger body strength, inhale the room and shove it through the horn, I would have not made it the...accuracy and endurance I had on the 31st!!! PS Oh I did ask for a REPORT CARD from my friends and for one with NO B.S. because I was going to write a report of my own. I got good feedback on this! _________________ Bob Odneal ********************** Message: 13 Date: Mon, 12 Dec 2005 13:36:09 -0600 From: "Travis Wilson" Subject: Re: [TPIN] Casual Double High C To: TPIN@tpin.okcu.edu Message-ID: <200512121336090312.007E211F@mail.pdq.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1" Only problem in dealing with Bob that I have run into is that pretty quick you become a friend, not just a student or customer. He is a great guy to be around and a wonderful musician Travis ********************** On 12/12/2005 at 10:42 AM Ray Chantler wrote: This is an unsolicited endorsement for Bob Odneal. I recently purchased his Casual Double High C method. Dealing with Bob has been a pleasure, and I think good service deserves at least honourable mention. Ray Chantler
